FTP (File Transfer Protocol)
•Submitting Files to Certified Ad Services via FTP (File Transfer Protocol)
We have an FTP site that allows file transfer for our customers and vendors. We do not have an anonymous ftp site due to security concerns. Please contact your Certified Ad Services’ Account Executive (Sales Representative) or Customer Service Representative to obtain the information needed to allow you to log into our FTP site. •Instructions 1. If possible, compress your files using DropStuffTM or Zip (Mac) or Winzip (PC). In particular, to ensure proper file transfer across the internet, Macintosh files must either have three letter extensions (e.g., .tiff, .eps, etc.) or be compressed. 2. To upload/download via FTP, you can use either your web browser or an FTP client program like Fetch or Cyberduck (Mac). Internet Explorer will work on Windows 2000 and newer. For a web browser, (not all browsers support ftp upload) type in the address that is given to you in the following format: ftp://00.000.000.00/ If you already have an account with us, use the format: ftp://username:password@00.000.000.00 •Substitute the ‘username’ and ‘password’ that was provided to you. When you connect with a web browser, you will see a blank page that reads “Current directory is” at the top, followed by a list of any files in the directory. 3. Once you are connected, drag your files to the window or use the Upload command from the menu. •You may not upload folders. If you need to upload a folder you must compress it into a single file. •You may not upload a file with the same name as a file already uploaded. If you need to upload a file a second time (due to a revision or an unsuccessful upload) you must either alter the name of the file or contact your Customer Service Representative so the original upload can be deleted. |
